Intuitive Risk Perception

Description

Approximately 60% of all deaths worldwide are attributable to diseases caused by behavior-related risk factors. In order to be motivated to take protective action, people first need to perceive a risk for their personal health. Recent models emphasize the critical role of emotional and intuitive processes for personal risk perception. In this project we employ neuroscientific methods allowing to assess how emotional and intuitive processes shape health risk perception.
