Surface Electrons on Mesoscopic Structures
Description
The main theme of the research will be strongly correlated systems on mesoscopic structured surfaces and the interplay between correlation and confinement. This will be complementary to other research which is going on in the field of semiconductor mesoscopic systems. The reserch objectives are divided into the following main areas:p1. Edge effects on the Wigner crystalbra) large systemsbrb) small systemsp2. One-dimensional mesoscopic structuresp3. Capillary Waves as a diagnostic toolp4. STM/AFM measurement of the electron position
