Phenomenology, Social Sciences and the Arts (TransCoop-Programm)

Description

This research project pursues three aims. Firstly, it is dedicated to editing Vol. VIII of the Alfred Schutz Work Edition (Alfred Schütz Werkausgabe) through international research cooperation between Dr. Jochen Dreher (University of Konstanz, Germany) and Prof. Michael Barber, PH.D. (St. Louis University, USA). Its aim is the edition of currently unknown and unpublished manuscripts, Schutzs Writings on Literature (Schriften zur Literatur), most of which will be brought to public attention for the first time. It will also include editorial comments, introduction, and index, etc. by the two collaborating experts on Schutzs sociology and philosophy. As the second aspect of the cooperation, Jochen Dreher and Michael D. Barber will organize a project-related international conference at the University of Konstanz on the topic Phenomenology, Social Sciences and the Arts. The third element of the cooperation will be the publication of a journal article on "Alfred Schutzs Phenomenological and Social Scientific Approach to Goethes Works" which includes the findings from expert discussions at the conference organized in Konstanz.
