Erforschung der hydrodynamischen Exposition an der archäologischen Fundstelle Freienbach-Hurden Seefeld, Kanton Schwyz (HydroExpo)

Description

The aim of the project is to identify the by erosion endangered sections of the site, to characterize and quantify the erosion processes, and to develop an erosion model for later protection measures. In a first step, the hydrodynamic exposure of the archaeological under water world heritage site will be investigated. This sub-project focuses on the following key aspects: i) Long-term measurements of the surface wave field, near-bottom-current velocities, and suspended sediment concentration throughout the season; ii) Wave exposure and relative importance of wind and ship waves at the study site for sediment resuspension and erosion; iii) Spatio-temporal resolved measurements of the back ground current field and net sediment transport.phttp://cms.uni-konstanz.de/fileadmin/biologie/ag-peeters/Hilmars-Pagerojects.html
